Family Friends.... and a trip back in time

Hey All

Second post in the same month is pretty good.

This month is turning out to be a pretty good month. I had some family friends come down to visit for two days and we went to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. I signed up for the Princess 5K in Feb and I got to go to Medieval Times which I have always wanted to go to.
Not sure if I posted this but in December I went to cirque du soleil with my partner in crime Allison.

They have a Medieval Times in Toronto but I have never been which I was always sad about because in school Medieval Times was my favourite time period to study. Allison's birthday is coming up and so me, her and three other wonderful Canadians headed over to the one here in Florida for her Birthday. It was so cool because when we first got there we saw the village which was so cool. They had all of the old tools and different artifacts all put together to look like a real Medieval village. The torture room was kind of terrifying though but it helped when the guy who worked there told me that none of those were real. After the rest of the group arrived we went into a big room with merchandise and a really neat bar. They then called us in by our colors. The colors are set to go with a Knight. There were six different colors which were split into two  teams. Our Knight was the yellow one and the black and white and red knights were also on our side. The other side was yellow and red, green and blue. The King and the Princess were brought out and there was an evil guy as there always is in plays. They Knights all competed in fun little games and when they won they received roses from the Princess. Then the threat from the bad guy came and the battle began. There were sword fights and joisting among each knight. Our Knight was pretty good but the Blue knight won and choose an adorable little girl in his section to be his princess (it was so cute). He then battle the evil guy, won and then we all cheered.

It was a dinner and show so we of course ate an excellent meal with our hands. We had chicken and ribs as well a tomato broth and bread with an apple pastry for dessert. I had the best time EVER!

On a side I tried the cronut which is amazing and now I am hooked.

Merry Christmas to All... and a Happy New Year

Hey All

I have to admit that I did not think I would get this behind in my posts but I have. I have decided to focus this this post on my family visit, Christmas and New Years Eve.

The week before Christmas my mom, dad and sister came to see me. It was amazing to get to see tham and all though I did not get to spend Christmas day with them I did get to spend a wonderful Disney Christmas with them.

I took them to see all four park Christmas trees as well as the Christmas celebrations. We went to Epcot and saw the Christmas part of the fireworks which for me was fun because I had not seen them yet. The next day I took them to my favourite thing for the holidays which was the Osbourne Family Christmas lights at Hollywood studios. If you have ever seen a house lit up in lights that flashes to music then picture that but the whole back lot of Hollywood studios. It quickly became my mom's favourite as well. We went and saw the Jingle Jungle parade with Zac and Alison at Animal Kingdom. On a side note we also went to see The Lion King show and Zac was picked to be the elephant (he was trying to get him to pick me and it backfired). We also had tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party which I had already gone to once. It was so cool for my family to see the parade and ride the rides and see the castle lit up with so many wonderful lights. The free cookies and hot chocolate was also very cool.  We of course saw Fantasimic also since it is mine and my moms favourite show.

We sayed at Pop centuy which was super cool and I found out that people actually decorate their windows and doors. One room had a banner asking people to take a candy cane and write where they were from. My mom and sister wrote on the door. We also decided to do the sit down restaurant dining plan. It was so cool because we went to Le Cellier where my wonderful friend Laura S served us. She was deffently one of the best servers we had. We also ate at Prime Time Café, Si Fi diner, Planet Hollywood and Rose and Crown.  We did Disney Quest on their last day where we had so much fun. Mom and I even built and rode our own roller coaster.

During the middle of the week we went to Universal and my sister saw the Wizarding world which is what she had really wanted to see there. We went on the Hulk and other roller coasters and my sister got me on the dragon Challenge. We saw it all dressed up for Christmas and even got to see a play version of The Grinch which was beyond amazing.

It was so sad to see them go but I know it won't be very long till I am back home.

Christmas eve Santa came to my apartment leaving wonderful goodies for me and my roommates.
Then Christmas day I headed off to a short day of work and met some amazing people from all over the world although my favourites were the Canadians.

New Years Eve was a whole different form of crazy I am not used to. I worked from 2 till 130 in the morning mostly selling glow. It was so nice of our managers because myself, Kailei and Alex were selling glow at IG (in between UK and France) so they let us join our fellow Canadians for the fireworks. The firework were unbelievable and if I were you I would search them up on YouTube.

My roommate Sunny from China also told me that in china when the New Year rings in you want to be with the one you love so that you can start the year with them which I thought was a cool piece of trivia.

Let the Bubble... Pop

Hey All

I have been here so far for 7 months and my experience has been amazing but we here have something called a "Disney Bubble". Because of this bubble we tend to forget about all the things outside of the Disney Parks.

For the past month or so I have ventured outside of the "Disney Bubble" and visited some incredible places and did some amazing things with awesome people.

Daytona International Speedway

My partner in crime Allison and I headed off to Daytona to take a tour around the Speedway. My dad watches the races back home and I would sit down sometimes and watch them with him. The race track is so big in real life and not like  I thought at all. We were taken on a tour of the grounds that included the VIP boxes, visitors spot and victory lane. We saw so many amazing pictures of the past and present as well as a module of their future plans.
During the tour Allison and I noticed that the clouds were getting very dark and at the end of tour we went back to the tram to head back to the main building and were drenched from head to toe.  After we went shopping so I could get dry clothes. We also finished the day with dinner.

I state the Allison is my partner in crime because we are always having the most awesome time. It was no different when we took a trip to Kennedy Space Center. I was amazed at everything I saw and experienced. There was so much to see I took about a hundred photos. Well we were there we visited the memorial wall which was both sad and inspiring. Like it always does when we decide to go out it rained but thankfully we found shelter and did not get soaked. I bought a new coat and a new sweater. Allison and I also got season passes so we will be going back since there was a lot that we did not see.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love country music. I was so lucky to get to see Luke Bryan with my friends Bry, Zac, Vanessa (F&B) and Jeremy.  It felt so good to let go and enjoy one of my favourite singers.

One of my favourite things to have down here is my seasons pass to Universal. Most simple reason I love it is because of Harry Potter... of course. Allison, Wiebke (Germany Merch) and myself went there and I had a great time. We went on a couple rides I had yet to go on like ET and Men in Black. I tried Butter Beer for the first time and I have to say the non frozen which I had was really good. We also got to see the Hogwarts performances which I was amazed with since I had seen so many videos on YouTube and was happy that they were even better in person.  We went and had dinner at the Hard Rock Café before the park closed.

I have not forgot about how much fun Disney is however. Not to long ago Laura from Canada F&B who I arrived with celebrated her 25th Birthday and I one of the lucky ones who got to celebrate with her. I met up with her and Kaylea (my best friend who is a CP at MK) at Epcot where we traveled around the world and had a drink in Mexico and so on. Later on we met up with a few others girls and had dinner in Japan. The food was beyond amazing and the service was one of my best experiences.  After dinner we headed to Jellyrolls which is a bar on the boardwalk.

It has started.... yes you guessed it Christmas has started here in Disney which should be in my next post. On a sad note we had to say goodbye to two amazing girls which will also be in the next post. On a super happy note for me my family will be here in about 21 days.

September was... Spooky

Hi Everyone

So I gave a tiny teaser a few days ago and it got a lot of views so I thought I should not make you wait much longer and put my first post up now.

I have done so much since my last post so this post is going all about Friday the 13th at Hollywood Studios, Mickey's Not So Scary and my Granny and Aunt's visit.

Mickey's Not so Scary
As soon as September came so did the pumpkins, ghosts and goblins at Magic Kingdom. Disney does an event for Halloween called Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party which I attended with a couple of my merch and attractions friends. It was so much fun for everyone to dress up and go around the Magic Kingdom and trick or treat. We had so much candy that I still have a bag FULL of it. There
was a Halloween Parade with some amazing costumes and scary characters. In true Florida fashion it rained for a little bit but that did not stop us from enjoying the super cool Halloween Fireworks.

I am so lucky that my family is not so far away that they can come to visit and I was super lucky to have my granny (dad's mom) and aunt visit last month.
They arrived and I went to Pop Century where they were staying. I saw them checking in at the desk and a very nice cast member let me cut the line to surprise them. It was so amazing to hug them and talk to them in person.  I also got to go with them to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom as well as watch Illuminations with them at Epcot. My aunt managed to get us into Be our Guest for dinner and since
Beauty and the Beast is my fav Disney movie I was so stoked. It was so cool and at the end we got to meet with the beast which was so cool.

We ordered Pizza one night and I had a sleepover. My aunt and I had a drink by the pool and later had a midnight swim at the pool which was super fun. They also took me to go see Spirit of Aloha which is a dinner show at the Polynesian resort . It had hula dancers, a fire dancer and a great cast with a wonderful story to tell. I would definitely recommend it to everyone of all ages.

On Friday the 13th Disney had an amazing villain night featuring Hades and Meg. It was so cool because there were 13 villains plus Hades. The fireworks were the most insane fireworks I have ever seen Disney do and I was so lucky I could experience them.

September was amazing and with Food and Wine right now October is already just as amazing. Look out for all that in the next post :).

On a Sad note my bedroom roommate Kimie had to leave :(. I miss her a whole lot but I know I will see her again.

Time Flys..When you have a little magic

Hey Everyone

I moved here to Florida leaving my family and friends back in Canada 6 months ago! It is so hard to believe that it has been six month.

I was hoping I would have time to write a long post with stories but that will have to be tomorrow or sometime this week since I have been super busy.

I will post some photos of really cool things I have done so far since some of you can not see them on  my Facebook (hopefully more will be in a blog soon).

Mickey's Not So Scary

Thursday 5 September 2013

if you can dream it... you can do it

Hey All

I know that I did not do a post for August, so since I am stuck inside due to the extreme thunder storm (as always) I thought this would be a good time to sit down and write my post for August.

A lot happened in August but one really import thing happened... My mom and best friend Chelsey came, of course.

I was super lucky and so happy that I had every day off while they were here. It was amazing to see them because lately I had been so homesick.

They arrived on Monday August 19th and I went with Zac to meet them and check into the hotel. We stayed at All Star Music and were placed in the Country Fair bulding, which was way at the back of the resort and was fine for me since I am used to walking everywhere. It was amazing to have my mom and best friend to share this amazing place with.

I am not sure if I mentioned this before but it was Chelsey's first visit to Disney and my mom was celebrating a very important birthday (which I will keep a secret). My mom could not have picked a better place to celebrate her birthday. She had everyone wishing her happy birthday including a diver at the seas in Epcot and a harmonica playing cast member at our resort. It was so cool to see what it is like for the guest since I am normally on the other side of the magic. One of the things my mom and I had planned before she came down was a character lunch at Crystal Palace on the 21st (her birthday). The cool thing about Crystal Palace is that you get to meet Winnie the Pooh and some of his wonderful friends. It was a cool surprise for Chelsey because we kept it a secret till we got there. Chelsey is also a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh.

They were here for 6 full days and we did all four parks including Downtown Disney which was one of our favourite places (shopping and Earl of Sandwich). My mom and Chelsey got to meet a lot friends in the UK pavillion and quite a few in Canada which was really nice.

Chelsey had a very emotional moment during one of the parades which made me think about all of the children and families who come into the store wearing their first visit buttons. It helped me out a lot because I had forgotten about the magic of seeing Disney for the first time and being with her helped me to connect with first time visitors better.

We went on a lot of the major rides and enjoyed so many of the amazing shows. I missed them when they had to leave but it was the best thing ever having them here and I was thrilled that Chelsey got to experience the magic that she thought she would never get to see.

Unfortunately, I did receive quite a bit of sad news from home as well last month.

When my mom was down visiting we received news that my great aunt had passed away. I was very sad to hear this because she was an amazing woman who was always willing to hear one of my crazy stories I would tell as a little girl. It did not matter how the story ended or even if it had an end, she would always listen. She will be missed so very much by my whole family.

A week later I also found that my cat had passed away. Although I did not always get along with my cat since I am more a people person, she was part of my family and it will not be the same without her when I return home.

Sorry it took so long to write this post!
